AIMS:
To offer a general overview of diabetes, its care and latest advancements
This course focuses on:
· All aspects of diabetes
· Insulin administration and blood testing (practical demonstrations)
· Diet
· Physical Activity
· Treatment of Hypos
· Legal aspects of giving or supervisions injections
· Residential trips Course Objective: To:
· Ensure staff within Care, residential & nursing homes feel confident about managing pupils with diabetes
· To meet your local experts and hear how they can support you. Please note this is a half day course and unfortunately lunch will not be provided
OBJECTIVES:
By the end of this training course you will be able to identify what Diabetes is, how it occurs and the different types.
· You will be able to recognise the symptoms of Diabetes and signs of complications.
· Be able to carry out blood testing.
· Have an understanding of the treatments for Diabetes.
