Digital technologies are increasingly central to how we access, interpret and share a range of media: how we relate to each other and to the world around us. Digital Studio Practice is a way of working that deploys digital media as both a means and output of research.
If you have a background in digital media, human-computer interaction, artificial intelligence, interaction design, composition, architecture or art and design practice, this programme could be for you. We will encourage and enable you to extend your expertise in the field through a series of practical, research-led projects.

Course programme
We provide a dynamic environment encouraging interaction between creative students and staff who share the same interests. You will work collaboratively with others to develop skills in conceptualising and implementing creative projects that make extensive use of digital media.
We will enable you to contribute knowledgeably and critically to debates on digital media, developments in the field and their social, cultural and theoretical contexts and impacts. As well as digital studio practice, you will gain training in postgraduate research methods and undertake a series of optional lecture-based courses, reading courses and a final project.
Studying for an MSc in Digital Studio Practice will allow you to undertake research involving the production of installations, compositions, art works, designs, constructions, performances and other creative outputs that deploy digital media, depending on your area of interest.
You will develop a publicly accessible portfolio of digital works, enhancing your presence in the marketplace and within academia. You will also have the opportunity to test your aptitude and interest for further study in the area, such as a PhD.
