Course programme

The IAM Diploma in Administrative Management is recognised as a Level 4 programme within the UK Government’s National Qualification Framework. It may be broadly compared with the first year of a 3-year BA(Hons) degree course, or first year of a 2-year foundation degree course. A great course, and an established, internationally-recognised professional qualification.

The course comprises five core units as follows:

- Personal development and CPD

- Human resource management practice

- Managing people and leadership

2. Administrative Systems and Processes

- Professional administration and systems

- Administrative procedures

- Principal administrative functions

3. Professional Administration

- Managing administration

- Change and administration

- Delivering customer satisfaction

- Business communication

4. Information for decision making.

- Data, information and decision making

- Presentation of information

- Information for financial awareness

- Information for planning and control

5. Case Study or Work Project Report.

Recommended total study hours: The Institutes’ suggested Learning Hours for this Award are 200 hours per unit. Our experience suggests that actual hours of study to achieve the Diploma are lower where the student has relevant practical knowledge and experience.

Suggested period of study: Deltic recognise the challenging (and rewarding) nature of this course, and that individual prior knowledge, learning style and personal circumstances, will all affect the overall time to be taken in completing this course. Nonetheless, generally we would advise students to sit the course over two examination sittings, giving a total period of study of around 12 months.

Assessment method: 3-hour sat examination per Unit. Optional Work Project Report in place of Unit 5 Case Study paper.

Award: Achievement of the Diploma offers the chance to upgrade to Associate membership of the IAM, and the right to use the professional designation Incorporated Administrator.
