Course description This qualification meets the needs of learners who work or aspire to work in health or social care settings or with children and young people in a range of settings It is also for people who are restricted from enrolling onto apprentice programs as they are not in paid employment or it there is no relevant apprentice framework.Within the Level 3 Diploma for the Children & Young Peoples Workforce there are two pathways:-Learning Development and Support Services Pathway - suitable for IYSS Staff and Learning Mentors.Childrens Social Care Pathway - suitable for Foster Careers and Practitioners in Childrens Social Care.

3. Entry requirements There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification but the college must carry out an initial assessment of each learner prior to the start of the programme to ensure that they are entered for an appropriate type and level of qualification. Learners must have and are willing to develop good literacy communication and numeracy skills along with basic computer skills. Experience within childcare or a level 2 childcare qualification is not essential but would be of benefit to learners who wish to undertake this course.You will undertake and require a satisfactory enhanced Disclosure Application. 4. Equipment required No equipment required 5. Assessment method You will be observed in the workplace by a college assessor who will mark your performance against the assessment criteria of the qualification/unit in which you are working towards. Tutors/assessors will use a variety of assessment methods which will include assignment work questions professional discussion and reflective accounts. Assessment is continuous throughout the course.This course will be assessed using an electronic e-portfolio.
