Course programme

The IT Diploma provides the opportunity to acquire knowledge and develop skills in the broad context of the information technology and communications sector. It also reflects the blend of business, technical and interpersonal skills needed in modern IT and Telecoms professional roles.

The Diploma will enable learners to progress into further and higher education and future employment.

Learners following an IT programme will also:

  • develop Functional Skills in English, Mathematics and ICT
  • produce a project which complements the Principal Learning and/or support their progression
  • have a particularly wide choice of Additional or Specialist Learning from which they can choose other qualifications which reflect their interests and abilities

The Diplomas are an exciting qualification based on a hands-on style of learning. You will enjoy learning in different environments including the workplace, choosing to study subjects which interest you and tackling challenging projects.

How are Diplomas assessed?
All Diplomas will be assessed through both exams and work marked by a teacher. Different parts of each Diploma will be assessed in different ways (for example, your project will usually be assessed by a teacher).
