Brochure Description

Microsoft Office 2007 looks completely different to previous versions. This course, which will concentrate on Word and Excel, will help you to make the change over. Alternatively if you are new to using Office it will help you to get started.

What will I learn during the course?

The aim of this course is to teach you to use MS Office 2007's main programmes, in particular Word and Excel. If you are used to previous versions then you will learn what still works and what doesn't. If you are new to using Office then in some ways you have an advantage because it will all be new to you. During the course you will learn:

• How to create Word documents

• Formatting and editing tools

• Inserting tables and graphics

• Saving in different formats

• How to create spreadsheets

• How to enter formulas

• How to create charts

• The basics of other programmes such as Powerpoint

Are there specific requirements for joining?

This a course for anyone who is new to using MS Office, or who wishes to “convert” from previous versions. You will need a basic knowledge of how to use a computer.

How will I learn?

Mainly by demonstration and “having a go”. You will also be given handouts and the tutor will give you 1-1 coaching if you need it,

Observation ; personal tracking sheets ; progress review

Practice between sessions if you have access to a computer.

Do I need specific equipment or clothes?

You will need access to a computer that has Office 2007 on it so that you can practice.

The school is located on Appleby Road, near to Morrisons. Car parking is available in the school grounds out of school hours. Room to be confirmed.

Payment options: Please add a £2 annual centre fee if this is your first course since September 2009. This fee is payable once per person per year. Please make cheque payable to “Cumbria County Council”.
