Diploma in IT (Advanced) Entry Requirements

• 4 GCSEs at C or above including English and preferably Maths or equivalent OR
• A BTEC First Diploma with a satisfactory reference and equivalent literacy and preferably numeracy OR
• A relevant equivalent Level 2 qualification with equivalent literacy and preferably numeracy

Entry is subject to a successful interview Content The Advanced Diploma is aimed at those who want to work within the IT or Telecommunications industry as well as those who aspire to become future business managers. The principle areas of learning cover the fundamentals of technology along side delivering and implementing technology enabled change and the commercial and business considerations that drive businesses forwards. Units covered:

• Understanding organisations
• Professional development
• Creating technology solutions
• Multimedia and digital projects
• Making projects successful
• Managing technology

This course aims to inspire learners through the exploration of real-world integrations of technology into business. A 10 day work experience block plus additional / specialist learning units chosen from a range of options, including A level subjects, are integral to this course. An extended individual or group project forms a major part of the assessed coursework. Assessment A range of assessment methods will be used within this course; these will include internally set exams, internally set assignments, a major project and externally set exams. Progression This course will prepare you for entry into employment, apprenticeship or for further study at Level 4 such as HNC; HND or Degree courses at College or University.
