Diploma in Leal Skills/ Diploma in Legal Practice

The Diploma in Legal Practice is an essential requirement for entry to both the solicitors' and advocates' branches of the legal profession in United Kingdom.

It is a one year academic course that bridges the gap between academic learning and in-office training prior to full admission to the profession. The structure of the Diploma is undergoing change as part of a new training regime for solicitors is at the forefront of the development and implementation of the new Diploma. Adopting this approach allows us to ensure that the new Diploma provides the relevant practical skills that are both highly valued and essential to success in the many and varied legal fields.

Already widely recognised as offering a practical skills based Diploma with a successful placement rate, the stance taken by BELL'S COLLEGE in designing the new Diploma has allowed for expansion and development of this approach around the national Diploma curriculum. The courses offered in addition to the national curriculum have a minimum of formal lecturing with the focus on additional activities, which enhance the teaching through tutorials and workshops. These additional activities are constantly being updated and developed via our industrial and professional links. They will also provide experience of real life situations and practice of written, oral and presentation skills essential to success.

The practical aspects offered in the BELL'S COLLEGE Diploma can provide a competitive edge that will ensure your time as a trainee will be more productive, effective and valued.

The course aims to bridge the gap between the conclusion of undergraduate study with its emphasis on academic study and the start of practical hands on experience in a solicitor's office. The course consists of eight separate courses: These are taught by a combination of lectures, tutorials and workshops.
