Once you have complete Level 2 Nail Service or Level 2 Beauty Therapy you can progress to Level 3 Nail Services. This course offers you the employability skills required to work as a professional Nail Technician to Level 3 Standard. Being a professional Nail Technician requires you to show passion, motivation and creativity, whilst showing an interest in your own appearance. You will gain advanced specialist training in nail techniques, artificial structures (gel, acrylic and fiberglass; maintenance and repair (manual and electric file), nail art services (design and creation)from embedding, 3D to competition work etc., whilst following health and safety and salon procedures to ensure client satisfaction. You will develop good manual dexterity, good communication and interpersonal skills.

Entry Requirements
You must have completed VTCT Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Nail Services or Level 2 Beauty Specialists. Minimum of 2 GCSE C grades or above, including English and maths.
Course Duration
One year – Full time.
Skills and Benefits
This qualification will help confirm your competence as a nail technician. You will be expected to work in a real working environment on real clients, particularly because this qualification leads to employment in such a client-centred and service orientated sector. Entry onto this qualification can be via previous attainment of a Level 2 qualification in beauty therapy. This qualification includes all the required elements to work effectively as a nail technician including: enhance and maintain nails using UV gel and liquid and powder.

Course Assessment
As part of this qualification you are required to produce a portfolio of evidence. A portfolio will confirm the knowledge, understanding and skills that you have learnt. It may be in electronic or paper format. Evidence in the portfolio may take the following forms: Observed work. Witness statements. Audio-visual media. Evidence of prior learning or attainment. Oral questions. Assignments. Case studies.
Progression
Level 2 Diploma in Hairdressing, Level 3 Diploma in Theatrical, Special effects, Hair and Media make-up or Employment.
