Course programme
DTLLS is needed by teachers and trainers in the adult learning sector to achieve the Full Member Status with the Institute for Learning (IfL) and Qualified Teacher in Lifelong Learning Status. It includes the PTLLS Unit (which may or may not have already been achieved separately). Consequently, participants need to be already undertaking some teaching or training and who are looking to work in an Associate Teacher role. This may be working using already prepared programmes and materials, working on a one-to-one rather than on a group basis, delivering a programme confined to a particular level or subject or type of learner or delivering on short courses, eg. in adult or community learning. There are no formal written examinations but assignments and observations of teaching practice are a key part of this award.
