Course programme
A range of units will be studied that enable you to develop a range of personal and academic skills that will support your further learning and help you reach your maximum potential, such as:
• Organisation and Evaluation of Study
• Practical Presentation Skills
• Academic Writing Skills
• Research Skills
• Building a Personal Portfolio
• Using IT for Study
• Prejudice and Discrimination
• Understanding Diversity within Society
A range of units will be studied that enable you to develop your vocational subject knowledge and understanding in preparation for further study at Level 3 including:
• Nutrition Performance & Healthy Eating
• Physiology & Exercise
• Sociology of Health
• Health Psychology
• Understanding Mental Health
• Ethical Issues in Social Policy
You will be in college for 2 days per week (plus half a day (Thursday) for GCSE English, if needed; plus half a day (Thursday) for GCSE Maths, if needed; plus an evening for GCSE Biology, if needed).
You will also have regular tutorials with your personal tutor to support your study.

GCSE English and maths grade D (acheived in the last 5 years) or Level 1 diagnostic screening to assess suitability.
