This course is aimed at those who wish to understand the key aspects of illustration in greater depth and enhance their visual language and drawing skills with daily project briefings from sample editorial and publishing briefs to more sustained storytelling. You will be encouraged to keep a visual diary and generate personal research for each project.

Course programme

Experimentation and innovative approaches will be encouraged from initial ideas to final visual outcomes in the spirit of BA illustration course a Central Saint Martins.

Professional and portfolio advice will be given, as well as personal tutorial advice. Feedback and group critiques will take place throughout the course.

This course is for whose who have completed an introductory illustration short course and wish to advance further or put together a professional portfolio or apply for a postgraduate course. We will cover the fundamentals of illustration in a practical hands on way, giving focus and direction.
