I have just completed the course with Distinction. The resources were excellent although you do need the paper version and I think it should be included in the initial cost. I would have liked to have had an email from someone to check that I was getting on ok as I decided not to submit the questions but it would have been nice to know that someone was still thinking of me.

Despite the fact I have never actually spoken to my tutor, I feel like I know her and we get on well. The feedback from assignments is thorough and very personalised. This was my first experience doing an online course. I found it to be a rewarding experience. I found the 3 Award in Childcare and Education to be smooth sailing & got a lot out of it. I was in touch with the college by phone a few times and found the staff to be courteous & helpful. Tutors very helpful when you have question and feedback is very informative. My Tutor Emma Tombey was fantastic and she really helped me throughout my course. She’s been so helpful throughout my course, phoning me when I’ve had issues, replying promptly to my emails and even messaging me on her days off to help me.I think the learning college is a great way to gain new qualifications in your own time. I had some doubts about enrolling because I had never taken a course like this. I am not so young anymore, so, I was too embarrassing of going to school again. About this point I must say UK Open College was an excellent choice to learn how to work with children and particularly ones with learning difficulties. My initial apprehension has been overcome since I have a routine now which suits my circumstances. I feel totally confident to send an email to my tutor with my doubts and get so quick answers. Better late than never to study!
