About this course
The main objective of this training course is to give you the “hands-on” knowledge and practical skills for your chosen trade, regardless of your current level of ability. This is a uniquely structured blended learning program, delivered by a combination of theory and practical skills acquisition.
Anyone who wants to start a new career as a gas engineer. This course is aimed at people with no previous domestic gas experience that would like to start a new career as a domestic gas engineer and gain recognised UK qualifications.
Minimum age requirement is 19 years of age and Courses start from £20/ week.
Level 2 Certificate in Gas Utilisation Core Skills and Knowledge (QCF)
Courses are split into 3 key areas; Practical (within a training centre), Theory (within a class-room environment) & Home- Study.
The practical training is designed to complement the course – not only bringing into context the theory you have learnt at home, but also giving you the knowledge, skills and experience you need to work competently and safely in your chosen trade.

Course programme
Training is by blended learning. Our training providers will provide you with the course materials that will aid you throughout the course. For the theory part of the course experienced and friendly tutors will guide you through your program and help with any questions via the phone, email and intranet.
The practical part of your training program will be held in one of the nationwide training centres - which are fully equipped to the highest standards.
Training programs start every month and are fully flexible to fit around your circumstances, whether you wish to take the course full-time or part-time to fit around your work or family. The course can also be taken in blocks which allows you to take a certain amount of time away from the course.
The City & Guilds and ACS qualification can lead directly to employment where you will further develop your skills and knowledge within the working environment.
Successful completion of a Domestic Gas Engineer course leads to industry recognised qualifications. The theory and practical training lead to ACS Certification.
