2. Course description An inspiring acrylic painting course designed to suit individual interests and abilities with demonstrations by the tutor and advice on materials and techniques. The course begins by developing core drawing & painting skills, exploring shapes and colour values in a still life; creating recession and perspective in a landscape; learning about composition; creating a semi-abstract painting; experimenting with acrylic painting techniques and learning about the traditional craft of painting. The overall aim is to help you learn some techniques and develop your ideas through a mixture of practice, discussion and demonstration.

3. Entry requirements All AbilitiesWe welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs. Equipment required Acrylic (medium or heavy bodied) paint (Student's or Artist's quality): Titanium White, Ultramarine, Cadmium Red, Cadmium Yellow, Yellow Ochre, Raw Umber, Burnt Sienna, Alizarin Crimson. Acrylic Long handled brushes: No. 1 Round, No.4 Filbert, No.6 Flat; Palette knife Tear-off palette or stay-wet palette or white plateA3 acrylic paper, panel or canvas 3B pencil; putty rubber; A5 or A4 sketch book or cartridge paper. Paper Towel or rags. Other materials may be needed during the course but these will be discussed in advance of the lesson where those materials may be needed. 5. Assessment method Not available
