2. Course description This fun one day course will establish some key acrylic painting methods through the use of web images, photographs and sketches.We will explore the wonderful use of texture, and colour using a mixture of acrylic paint and collage items such as colour magazines, tissues and PVA glue There will be a short talk and demonstration of techniques with some materials available to try. Learners will gain confidence in using materials and review their work through group discussion and one to one support.The overall aim is not necessarily to complete a painting, but to have fun, achieve personal expression and work in a range of techniques and methods.This could act as an extension to other painting courses attended or as a one off workshop

3. Entry requirements Some experience of drawing and painting would be helpful, but this is not essential. Useful for anyone needing a refresher, or for those with little experienceWe welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs. Surrey Adult Learning values and supports equality and diversity by promoting fairness and respect at all times. 4. Equipment required Bring whatever acrylic materials you may already have purchased. These should include a basic set of acrylic paints. An A4 or A3 or Acrylic board or watercolour paper. A range of flat and round acrylic brushes, a palette, ruler, soft pencil, permanent marker, rubber, paper/towel roll. You will also need some old colour magazines, white tissue paper and PVA glue Please bring in a selection of web images, references for a Flower subject ( Dutch Still life, or gardens) alternatively landscape and buildings 5.
