Course programme
We will look at the visual recording of plants and flowers in art and design, exploring a wide variety of art traditions from botanical illustration to more contemporary artists including Ellsworth Kelly, Gary Hume and Lucienne Day. Each week we cover a different formal element in drawing taking an artist or designer as our inspiration. These images will be used as starting points for discussion and as inspiration for our own personal expressions of the subject matter.
