I can understand where some might think dressmaking can be shrouded in mystery words and techniques -wrong sides together, cut on the fold, with or without nap, on the bias - no wonder some folks are content just to let the urge to learn basic dressmaking techniques pass them by!
Using our easy, relaxed but can-do attitude towards learning, we will work with you over this two, half day course to ensure that you learn dressmaking from the ground up.
We cover commercial patterns and the skills you’ll need to use them, including selecting a pattern, how to properly measure your body, pattern symbols, cutting skills, and the secrets of following pattern instructions. You’ll complete a fabulous ladies’ blouse over the two half day sessions (with a bit of homework in-between!, and finish with something truly special and just your own to wear! Get the guidance you’re looking for, step-by-step, as you learn the essential skills to creating original clothing.
The course is held over two half days.
