Course Aims:
To introduce and learn dressmaking skills in order to enable students to make clothes for themselves, family and friends.
Course Content:
Students will use and select their own patterns and fabric to make items of their choice, according to individual ability. Students will learn how to use the sewing machine and how to handle a variety of materials.
Progression:
There are a variety of Art & Design courses available within the Faculty.

Exam:
Assessment is informal and ongoing. Students will produce a portfolio of work showing completion/evidence of three mandatory units which are assessed by the tutor and verified by an external NCFE moderator. As an integral part of the course all students will be expected to complete a workbook evidencing competence in the assessment criteria.

NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Creative Crafts (Dressmaking)
