To ensure that all course participants understand the importance of daily vehicle checks and the consequences to themselves and others arising from failure to maintain vehicles. Suitable for: Drivers and controllers of passenger vehicles and those responsible for dealing with the needs of potential passengers prior to travel e.g. booking office staff

Course review:
Consideration of legal requirements for all drivers of motor vehicles to ensure that they conform to the requirements of the Road Vehicles (Construction & Use) Regs, the RV Lighting Regs etc; "O" licensing undertakings by the Operator; effect of non-compliance on the driver and operator; graduated fixed penalties and the effect on the drivers' licence. Accident statistics; The use of defect books etc.
A practical vehicle walk round exercise will be carried out during this course and participants will be required to provide their own PPE (at least safety boots and hi-viz jacket/bib).
