Drug Awareness Studies and their Applications Course
This course is appropriate for the widest possible range of candidates, including anyone wanting to learn more about drug issues, those working with substance mis-users, and people in support work roles, such as youth work, counselling or community work.
The qualification will help learners develop awareness of the key issues around drug use and misuse.
It aims to provide a nationally recognised qualification in drug awareness at intermediate level and has been signposted against the Drug and Alcohol National Occupational Standards.

Unit 1: Understand drug use/misuse
Unit 2: Recognise and respond to drug use/misuse
Unit 3: Communicate with young people about drugs
Unit 4: Work with communities
Unit 5: Show awareness of issues concerning alcohol use/misuse
Study HoursThis is only an approximate figure and is dependant upon how much time you can dedicate to your studies and how well you grasp the learning concepts in the course material. Furthermore, at the end of each lesson there is a question paper that needs to be completed and returned to your tutor. You should allow at least 1 - 2 hours of study to complete each question paper.
