To teach the relevant job safety knowledge and practical skills necessary for the safe and efficient operation of rear or forward tipping dumper trucks (from Light capacity of up to 3.5 tonnes to Heavy capacities of above 7.5 tonnes). Suitable for: Dumper truck operator trainees

Course programme
Courses are delivered at customer sites on dates to suit the customers needs. The training is conducted on customer equipment
Learn how to operate a Rear or Forward Tipping Dumper Truck in a safe and efficient manner.
On completion of the course you will be familiar with site safety awareness, operating safety codes, the machine and controls, pre-operational checks and refueling, driving & Steering, general operating procedures, loading and unloading and more.
Course Duration:
Either 3, 2 or 1 day depending on candidates experience and type of machine – maximum 3 x candidates per course for basic training (6 if assessment test only).
Machine Specification:
2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive Dumper Truck, Rear or Forward tipping.
Course Content:
Classroom based theory training to inform candidates of the relevant legislation / statutory requirements (HASWA 1974, PUWER 98, LOLER 98 etc), raise awareness of site safety and develop understanding of the vehicles engineering / stability principles including lifting capacities and de-rating required depending on circumstances / application. Practical Demonstration on thorough pre-operational checks prior to putting vehicle into use.
Supervised practical exercises to develop skills in manoeuvring both forwards & reverse over varying terrain including slopes, with & without loads. Positioning the dumper for loading by various other types of site vehicle (e.g. Loading Shovels). Transporting material to tipping area for correct tipping using stop blocks / banks person.
Course Certification:
On successful completion of a theory test consisting of both open and multiple choice questions, and practical assessment using a progressive assessment report, successful candidates will receive a Certificate of Training in Basic Practical Skill and Ability.
Course Documentation:
Training Records and Nationally recognised & registered Certification (Either ITSSAR or NPORS) with Photo ID Card forwarded to Employer.
Course Manuals
Comprehensive Course Manual and Safety Code issued to each candidate.
Course Location
On-site at Customers premises or other nominated venue.
Staff Instructors
Safe-T-Solutions Instructors involved in presenting this course are qualified and experienced instructors, and are also trained, tested, certificated operators of dumper trucks.
