2. Course description Summary: This course will train you to work in a face to face role with children, between birth and 5 years, with knowledge of children up to 7 years Course description: You will cover topics such as: - Contributing to positive relationships - Help to keep children safe - Support children's development - Use support to develop own practice in children's care, learning and development - Prepare and maintain environments to meet children's needs - Support children's play and learning. The course includes 282 guided learning hours, and 250 hours to be completed at placement, where skills will be evaluated. Objective: This nationally recognised course can lead directly to a career working in a supervised role in settings or services whose main purpose is children's care, learning and development. Assessment: Assessment is carried out via written assignments, presentations etc. and assessment in work placement.
