Course programme

Early Years Educator Foundation Degree (FdA) Full-time FdA Location Start Date Day Time Fees Duration Leamington Sep-2016 Mon, Tue, Wed and Thu 09:00 - 16:15 see below 2Year(s) What will I study?

This course provides a broad foundation of knowledge and skills required to work with young children. It is designed to provide students with a 'licence' to practice' in an early years setting and it is sector endorsed by the Children's Workforce Development Council (CWDC).

This programme is written to support the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework and to introduce students to the Early Years Professional Status. The course relies heavily on work-based learning and therefore students complete work placements where they will apply and practise theory and use their workplace experience in a range of assessment tasks.

Warwickshire College was granted Foundation degree awarding powers by Her Majesty's Most Honourable Privy Council in September 2014 reflecting the very high confidence placed in us by independent higher education assessors after a year-long detailed scrutiny. This course is one of the first of our new awards following a successful course approval during 2015. The highly experienced team at Leamington College have been delivering the HND and Foundation degree in early years, awarded by Pearson and partner universities for many years, and have had the pleasure of seeing many graduates progress to wide range of jobs, higher degrees and other successful positions.
