Introduction Stratford-upon-Avon College offers a Foundation Degree in Post Compulsory Education and Training. This qualification is an extension to study in educational practices for those who have successfully completed Stage 1, 2 and 3 of the Certificate in Post Compulsory Education and Training, or those who have successfully completed Stages 1, 2 and 3 of the City & Guilds 7407 Certificate in FE Teaching.

The qualification will enable applicants to expand their understanding of the wider aspects in the PCET sector and give them the opportunity to raise their qualification status.
Foundation Degrees provide the unique combination of Degree level study with gaining relevant vocational experience. Candidates are able to 'earn while they learn' and some are sponsored by their employers. Assessment uses delegates' own workplace and experience along with relevant theory. Programmes include opportunities to develop key skills and take part in personal professional development.
What the course will cover This course will extend study in a range of aspects of the FE sector teaching and training. The course consists of four related modules:
· Contemporary Issues in PCET
· Managing resources in PCET
· Reflecting on practice in PCET
· Researching PCET
Training Methods Teaching and learning includes lectures, seminars and tutorials and assessment focuses on work based learning opportunities. However, 50% of the Foundation Degree will be assessed by external examination. Attendance is on a part-time basis for one day a week.
