It's aimed at healthcare and public health staff who have limited experience of conducting economic evaluations and decision-making analysis.

Course programme

The course will involve a mixture of lectures and small group exercises to make sure the course is as practical and relevant as possible.

It will cover:

  • the basic principles of economic evaluation methods
  • how to assess the costs of an intervention/service
  • how to measure and value outcomes of an intervention/service
  • practical examples of economic evaluation analysis
  • how to use of economic evaluation in decision making

You'll also have the opportunity to discuss the economic evaluation you're doing, or thinking of doing, in small groups.

A facilitator will help you scope your economic evaluation, draft its core elements, identify the data you'll need to use, and think about how you could overcome information or data gaps.
