Economist course

The economist is the student of the economy as a whole, whose goal is to interpret society and the economic behavior of its agents, identifying methods and explanatory theories through research and scientific analysis. The field of investigation includes the study of the behavior of all economic agents: individuals, families, businesses, institutions, social groups, public administration, etc. Economists therefore normally tend to specialize in a specific sector of economics: the main ones are political economy (pure economics) and business economics (applied economics). Pure economics, economic policy, financial science and industrial economics are considered disciplines. Instead, most of the other sectors of the economics: management and its specialist divisions such as corporate governance, strategy and business organization; financial economics; corporate finance; accounting. Related to economics, but distinct from it, are other disciplines that are not strictly economic such as financial mathematics, econometrics, statistics. Economics is the subject of study of the university faculties of Economics, Management and Finance in Italy, heirs of the previous four-year degree course in "Economics and Commerce". Today they are organized according to a cycle of first level studies (three-year degree) after which it is possible to continue with a specialist degree (two-year).
