Edexcel PTLLS (Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector)

This is a short, intensive distance learning qualification that has been developed for anyone entering teaching or training roles or already in-service who needs to achieve the minimum threshold status as a teacher in the lifelong learning sector – that is, adult and community learning and development, further education, libraries, archives and information services and work-based learning.

If you want to learn all about teaching skills, effective teaching, innovative teaching, teaching techniques, programme planning, coaching skills, presentation skills, teaching strategies and teaching methods then this is the course for you.

The course is designed to be taken over a week with you working every day to achieve the required assignments before presenting your micro teach session which takes approx 15 minutes and you will present to your fellow PTLLS students. This won't take too long as each course has a maximum of 6 students.

You will receive continual excellent online support from your tutor throughout the course so don't feel you are alone!

The beauty of this course is that it can be completed in as little time as a week!

And your certificate is available immediately upon completion

This fantastic e-learning course is worth 6 credits on the Qualifications Framework and can be used as a stepping stone to further development through the CTLLS & DTLLS qualifications

• Understand your own role, responsibilities and boundaries of role in relation to teaching
• Understand appropriate teaching and learning approaches within a specialist area
• Demonstrate your session planning skills – plan, deliver, observe and evaluate a micro-teaching session
• Understand how to deliver inclusive sessions that motivate learners
• Understand the use of different assessment methods
• Understand and analyse the need for accurate record keeping and procedures that can be adopted – including internal and external assessment information.

All successful candidates will receive an Edexcel nationally recognised Level 4 Award in PTLLS - Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

This course can be completed in as little time as a week!

We run several PTLLS courses a month and the only restrictions on completion would be the amount of time and effort you are able to commit to the program and when you could attend the next half day micro teach session towards the end of your course.

These sessions are held across the UK at various locations and times throughout the month to fit your schedule.

Once you have logged into your course you will have 24 / 7 access to your online tutor, course notes, assignments and cohort forum.

All successful candidates will receive an Edexcel nationally recognised Level 4 Award in PTLLS - Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector

There are no formal entry requirements for candidates who want to take this qualification; however it is the centre’s responsibility to assess, and keep a record, of a candidate’s suitability for the programme.
