At the heart of our thriving Performing Arts department sits the busy and efficient Stage Management team. Throughout the year we produce a number of shows and the stage management students assist in the running and technical management of most of them. We work mainly in our own studio theatre The Riverside Theatre but we do have shows that perform in outside venues like the Kings Theatre in Portsmouth, The Showroom at Chichester University and The Alexandra Theatre in Bognor Regis.

You will be studying all areas of Technical Theatre and Stage Management. Some roles and units of study are: Lighting, Sound, Stage Management, Production Management, Set Building, Prop Making, Puppet design and construction.
How will I be taught?

In the first term you will be taught through a series of lectures and activities which will form the foundations for your practical work. In this term you will start some of the written elements of your assignment work and you will also build up your skills in all technical areas of your course. We usually begin our productions in early December and they run regularly until the end of the course. You will be guided and taught your practical skills by working on the shows all year.
