The Education Development International course is designed for those who are, or who want to become a teacher, tutor or trainer and need to be able to plan, prepare and implement learning for a specialist area. The purpose of this EDI qualification is to provide an introduction for those who wish to train or teach. It is a qualification that will equip a wide range of trainers, facilitators and teachers to support learners.



Entry Requirements

Have the personal and intellectual qualities to acquire the knowledge, understanding and skills needed to gain this award. Have the ability to read effectively and able to communicate clearly and accurately in spoken and written English.

What you will be studying The course introduces you to planning, teaching and assessing learners in the sector and evaluating your effectiveness as well as examining the roles and responsibilities of teachers in the sector.

One module to study

Roles and responsibilities of teachers, issues of equality and diversity, how to devise session plans, prepare resources, access learning, learn the notions of reflective practice, learn how to provide support to learners, to be aware of key legislation, also engage in an observed teaching session and/or in a micro teaching session with your peers.

How will you be assessed on the course?

Candidates will be required to complete a portfolio and a micro teach exercise.

Will I receive support?

Study skills are embedded into the course. Your tutor will also cover study skills such as report writing, note taking, research skills and reading skills. Ultimately, you are also expected to study independently, but your tutor will assist you where possible.

How long is the course?

LGA Training will deliver the course within Twelve Weeks.

When will the course begin?

Course Begins: (Evening) TIME: 6:00 – 9:00 Date: Monday the 9th September 2010

(Intensive Course) During Half Term Weeks During 2010/2011 Date and Times to be Arranged.
