The course is for anyone who wants to make a showreel to promote their video work, whether you're a video editor, filmmaker, video or visual artist, actor, architect, or just interested in the process. During the course you will learn the conventions of making a showreel, how to plan one and prepare the footage. We'll then explore the varied editing techniques of Adobe Premiere Pro, to create an engaging and effective presentation of your material, as well as how to export and back up your showreel.

- organise and transcode materials (using Media Encoder) for use in Premiere Pro- use Photoshop to prepare images for editing- create a Premiere Pro project and create a sequence for editing- use a range of editing tools in Premiere Pro- use some simple motion graphics techniques using key frames- use some masking techniques- use split screen editing in Premiere Pro- export, back up and archive your sequences and project.

You will be taught through workshops, short lectures, practical exercises, tutorials and handouts. Please note we will be working on Apple Mac computers. You will be encouraged throughout the course to practise the techniques at home between classes.
