Education Studies with Psychology examines how childhood is understood and shaped by society and how educationalists and psychologists theorise personal, social, emotional and intellectual development.

You will have the opportunity to undertake a voluntary placement experience towards the end of your first year and continue to do so throughout your second During your dissertation module in your final year, you will be able to tailor your learning to your career interests. and third years, which can help to significantly bolster your employability.

Graduates from this programme have the required skills to pursue education-related roles as teachers across various age groups, youth workers and more within local authorities, academies, nurseries and prisons, as well as in arts, community and alternative education roles. Many of our recent graduates have gone on to pursue teaching training programmes or continued on to postgraduate study opportunities, including our Education Practice MA programme, which allows students to develop their career in the education sector, specifically in relation to teaching, leadership and educational management.

You will study a range of topics including historical and contemporary issues in education, perspectives on education and the core areas of psychology.
Learn about the connections between Psychology and Education with the flexibility to specialise in your areas of interest through option modules. Modules you can choose from include Social Psychology, Abnormal Psychology and Counselling Psychology.
Successful completion of the course provides an ideal foundation to progress onto a PGCE qualification, enabling you to become a teacher in the UK.
