Electrical Fundamentals (National Certificate Level) Aim:
To provide a foundation of electrical engineering principles and laws.

Length of Study:
18 weeks with tutor support.

Entry Requirements:
No formal entry qualifications.

Contents:
Current Voltage and Resistance Relationship, Power and Energy, Current Carrying Conductors in a Magnetic Field, Sinusoidal Voltage Waveforms.

Study Method:
Home-based study with tutor support for help and advice.

Assessment:
Written assessments. A practical exercise must also be completed.

Comments:
It would be beneficial for students to have access to simple electrical equipment such as meters and components.

Cost:
£105+ £7.50 SQA Fees.
