Electrical Installation Certificate level 3

Course Aims:
This qualification is the second stage of three qualifications and is designed to contribute towards the knowledge and understanding required for the related National Vocational Qualification (NVQ) at level 3. The course will provide for your skills and knowledge to facilitate your career development in the electrical industry.

If you are aged 16-25 the certificate can form part of an apprenticeship that allows you to earn while you learn. Alternatively once you have understood the basics, successfully achieved your certificates and found employment, the next step is to enrol for an NVQ that reflects your chosen career.

Course Content:
Inspection testing and commissioning
Fault diagnosis and repair
Electrical principles
Helath practice is observed throughout the course

Progression:
NVQ level 3. You will need to be employed in the electrical installation industry or have significant placement time with a company to enable access to assessment.

City & Guilds

Exam:
One on-line multi-choice test and product evidence including written papers for two other units.

Qualification:
Level 3 Certificate in Electrotechnical Technology

Duration:
One year (32 weeks) part time, 2 evenings per week. Alternatively 32 weeks part time day release, subject to demand.
