Course Description
This course is designed to satisfy the framework requiremnts for an apprentice electrician. The course includes an NVQ Level 2 which will introduce the candidate to a variety of engineeringprinciples. It also includes Key Skills, although a candidate holding necessary GCSE's at A-C could be exempt form these. The City & Guilds 2330 Level 2 is the first part of the required techinical certificate for electricians

Entry Requirements
Level 2 Work-based Apprenticeship learners will have to undertake a period of initial assessment, including a vocational aptitude test, and achieve between 50% and 70% in both Literacy and Numeracy Level 1 diagnostic tests.

Assessment: Candidates are required to complete an NVQ Level 2 (PEO), necessary Key Skills and the C&G 2330 Tech Cert.The Tech Cert incorporates six units of study (201-6) .Four units will be assessed by a on line exam and two units will be assessed in the workshop.

Progression Routes: Successful candidates can progress on to Advanced Apprenticeship in Electrotechnical services, which incorporates an NVQ Level 3, necessary Key Skills, the City and Guilds 2330 at Level 3 and the AM2 (Achievment measurement)
