Entry requirements are A-C in English, maths, science plus one other e.g. design technology and successful Completion of an entry assessment paper. All students must display a positive attitude and have excellent attendance. Who The Course is for
The programme is for school leavers or adults wanting toimprove their chances of gaining employment in the Electrical Installation industry.

Course Content
You will study City & Guilds Level 2 Electrical Installation, OCNW Preparation for Employment in Construction Industries, key skills level 2 in application of number and communications.
You will study:
- Basic Engineering Science.
- Earthing Requirements.
- Principles of Electrotechnology.
- Switching.
- Regulation.
- Cable Selection and Erection.
- Electrical Circuits and Supplies
- Protection
- Routine and Non-Routine Practical Work
- Assembly & Constructing Electrical Circuits
- Preparation of the Workplace and Safe Working Practices
All students are required to wear appropriate protective equipment in the workshops, including safety boots and overalls. Students may be able to purchase these through the college at a reduced cost.

Assessment is by portfolio building, practical assessment, knowledge test and externally set test.
