Content Emergency First Aid Training Regulations course for Appointed persons who are able to provide emergency cover in the absence of First Aiders, but only where the absence is due to unforeseen and temporary circumstances. Where an employerï¾'s assessment of first aid needs identifies that a First Aider is not necessary, the minimum requirement as an employer is to appoint a person to take charge of the first aid arrangements, and call the emergency services when required. Arrangements should be made for Appointed persons to be available to undertake these duties when people are at work. Who should attend: Those persons who can be first on the scene to control an emergency situation where there is a possibility of accident or sudden illness, and is available to take immediate action, such as calling an ambulance when the need arises. Learning Objectives: To provide a basic knowledge of First Aid regulations and how to apply that knowledge in an Emergency First Aid situation. Course Contents: · What to do in an emergency · Contents of a first aid box · Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) · First aid for the unconscious casualty · First aid for the wounded or bleeding Assessment Certificate of attendance - HSE approval is not required for this training, it should be remembered however, that appointed persons are not first aiders and should not attempt to give first aid for which they have not been trained.
