This course will help develop your current endodontic skills in a modern clinical environment.

About this course
This course provides good preparation for the MFDS examination of the Royal Colleges but is not approved for eligibility to sit the MRD examination. On completion of this course students may consider an academic career or specialised clinical practice.
Candidates must have a degree in dentistry and must have at least two years clinical experience following graduation. As this is a clinical course, your level of English is highly important.

You will attend lectures and seminars and will be encouraged to participate in discussion of the chosen topic. Provision will be made for personal study time and students are expected to use this to increase their knowledge and understanding of endodontology and prepare for assessments.
Practical skills will be taught first using a combination of natural and plastic teeth in a laboratory. Clinical skills will be further developed by treating patients under supervision.
You will be expected to write up and present your completed cases on a regular basis
How you will be assessedAssessment will be comprised of a one-hour written short-answer examination for each taught module.
You will carry out a research project related to endodontology and produce a typed and bound dissertation. This will include a critical review of the literature. It is anticipated that the proportion of time spent on the research project should be approximately 25% of the course.
