The Programme
This is a Level 2 programme designed as a progression route from the full time City & Guild 2330 Level 2 Electrotechnical Certificate. The course content also includes the Domestic Installer Qualification and the City & Guilds 3666 Structured Cabling qualification.
The Programme Content
The Security Systems qualification consists of three mandatory units and three secondary units with a combination of theory and practical elements. Ongoing modular assessment is undertaken in both theory and practical and is concluded with an on line examination. The Domestic Installers Certificate and C&G3666 are included within the years programme to provide students with a good qualification base and these again consist of theory and practical elements with ongoing assessment and final examinations.
Attending students will also be expected to undertake the required Key Skills programme for Literacy, Numeracy and ICT consisting of portfolio construction and examinations depending on entry qualifications.
Progression / Careers
This qualification suite will provide students with a good grounding in different cabling installation trades giving them an insight into the various occupational options available to them. Students that gain employment can then progress onto applicable Level 3 programmes and National Vocational Qualifications.
