Description:
This award is aimed at candidates who are following advanced modern apprenticeship programmes of who needed evidence towards underpinning knowledge for an NVQ. Candidates may also wish for career progression within the engineering industry or want to progress from applying engineering principles level 2 and other qualifications. Core and optional units included: working effectively and safely in an engineering environment, engineering principles and practice, principles of fabrication and welding, TIG welding, MIG welding, sheet metalwork fabrication, pattern development, thick platework, and structural steelwork

Progression:
City & Guilds level 4 or BTEC national certificate.

Entry Requirements:
Applying engineering principles level 2, or appropriate industrial experience or appropriate GCSE passes in relevant subjects.
