Course programme

What qualifications do I need? 

You will be required to have successfully achieved Level 2 Engineering. (If Learners require an additional Functional Skills qualification this can be gained during the course.)

What’s involved?

As an engineering student you will be studying modules in a variety of areas, which will lead you to gaining experience in, amongst other things;

  • Engineering health and safety
  • Engineering principles
  • Principles of mechanical manufacturing engineering
  • Principles of electrical and electronic engineering
  • CNC machining of materials
  • Produce drawings using CAD

This course will provide you with the opportunity to gain the qualifications, knowledge and experience needed for a career in the ever-expanding Engineering Industry.

How will I be studying?

As far as possible the course is practically based. Much of this course will involve practical activities in a real workshop with simulated manufacturing and inspection tasks. Theory based sessions will be taught in the classroom.

Where can I move onto after this course?

This course can lead to direct entry in to employment or further study at university.
