2. Course description The aim of this course is to improve all four skills in English: reading, writing, listening and speaking. At the Upper Intermediate level you will:• recognise and use formal and informal language,• widen your vocabulary,• strengthen your grammar skills and study the use of English.By the end of the course you will be able to deal with a range of social interactions, create increasingly complex sentences and discuss a variety of topics.The course will also help you to prepare for the internationally recognised Cambridge First Certificate in English examination. The examination is optional and can be taken at any authorised centre. Additional exam fees apply (approx £120).

3. Entry requirements Upper Intermediate is for learners who can express themselves confidently using a variety of tenses. To find out which level is best for you, come along to our Advice and Enrolment session to take a short grammar test and speak to the tutors.Information, Advice & Enrolment sessions will take place on the following dates and times:Monday 24th April 2017 10.00-11.30amTuesday 25th April 2017 6.30-8.00pmClasses are friendly and informal. Sometimes you will work in pairs or groups so that you can practise speaking more. Your tutor will give you regular feedback and help you to assess your progress and achievement.We welcome learners with additional needs and disabilities. Please let staff know if you require any extra support when you enrol and they will arrange for a member of the Supported Learning Team to contact you to discuss your support needs.
