About this course

To sit for the Brazilian Proficiency exam CELPE-Bras

Anyone interested in having a CELPE-Bras certificate and with at least an intermediate level in Brazilian Portuguese

This course is specifically for those wishing to sit and pass the CELPE-Bras exam.

Students will have the option to enrol or request further information.

No, we prepare students for the exams and will guide them towards registering with the right organisations to sit for the exam

Exams are conducted around October and April every year, so we need to wait until closer to the time to find out about fees.

The CELPE-Bras happens twice a year, in April and October, so whenever you/we feel that you are ready.

Yes, you can. There is no need to travel to Brazil for the exam, as you can do it in England, but if at the time of the next exam you know you will be in Brazil you might choose to sit for the exam there.

There are four levels in the CELPE-Bras exam.
If you are not happy with your level, you might choose to re-sit the exam, for which you will have to pay another fee to the institution running the exams.

Fees for this course will be £18 per student, per lesson and with up 5 students in each course.
If there are between 3-5 students attending and whenever at leat 3 students are attending a lesson it will last for 1,5h. If there are only 2 students enrolled or only two students attending a lesson it will last for 1h.

Brazilian Portuguese teacher with 23+ years of experience teaching children, teenagers and adults, from which 16 years in the UK. I teach General Brazilian Portuguese, preparation for exams (GCSE, A levels and CELPE-Bras), Business Portuguese and Portuguese for travellers. I teach mainly at my classroom in Shepherds Bush, but I can also visit students at their home/office and visit students at secondary schools to prepare them for exams or conduct the OCR GCSE oral exam in Portuguese.

Course programme

During this course we will revise and use the indicative form of the verbs, using the Past, Present and Future tenses, amongst others,
Use of the subjunctive form: Present, Imperfect and Future,
Reflexive pronouns,
Direct and Indirect objects and pronouns
Adverbs, conjunction and prepositions,
All grammar aspects necessary to write a good essay enabling the student to pass the exam with high grade.

Additional information

Students will have a variety of exercises to help them to achieve the right level and understand how the exam is conducted.
They will watch videos, listen to audios, write, read and speak a lot during each lesson.
There will be grammar explanation and mock up of the exam.
