Course Description:
A course that combines literary and linguistic approaches through the study of a range of texts written in different styles. Spoken English is also explored.

Description Breakdown:
Unit 1 Integrated Analysis and Text Production. You will study a collection of short stories and a modern play. The exam will consist of an 'open book' exercise and a language production task.

Unit 2 Analysing Speech and its Representation. Here you will study a modern novel and write a 'closed book' essay in the exam.
There will also be a comparative exam question on two unseen speech texts (non-literary).

There is no coursework for AS.
