Description
Students will study six modules, three in English Language and three in English Literature.
English Language Single and Joint Honours programmes are intended for students who wish to deepen and extend their understanding of the English language as well as of language and communication more generally, and to study the interdisciplinary field of linguistics with an eye on its applications. The Department offers Single Honours Degrees in English Language, TEFL and Language and Communication and also Joint Honours degrees with Literature, European Languages and other Arts and Humanities subjects. Students take the year abroad in Australia, Europe or the USA in the third year of study.

Entry Requirements
Our standard entry requirement is BBB (UCAS tariff points 120) or equivalent including a B in English Literature or the combined English Language and Literature A-level or A-level Creative Writing. All offers are made following a review of the application form, predicted/achieved grades and subjects, the reference and personal statement. We also accept a range of advanced level qualifications including: International Baccalaureate 32; Welsh Baccalaureate - grade equivalent to A-level; Access to Higher Education and Open University qualifications, and Extended Project.
