Description
Students study six modules, three in Welsh and three in English.
Cymraeg/Welsh
In their first year complete beginners will follow modules which will provide a sound grounding in Welsh grammar but with an emphasis also on oral work. During this first year, second language students can study a range of modules, with emphasis on grammar, oral work, contemporary literature and culture. Students who successfully complete Level One proceed to our specially designed Level Two and then progress to Three. The emphasis throughout the degree scheme is on developing writing skills and the individual's ability to communicate effectively in Welsh. For example, the Welsh and Work module incorporates a work placement scheme. Students are placed in schools, television companies, translation units, language enterprises, or in any office or business where Welsh is the medium of work.
