Introduction:
This course is for people who do not speak English as their mother-tongue. It is available at different levels to suit individual needs.

Study Mode & Location:
This part-time course is available at a variety of days and times, and at the following places:

  • Bethel Evangelical Church Learning Centre.
  • Buckingham House Learning Centre.
  • Guttridge Memorial Methodist Church Learning Centre.
  • Preston North End (PNE) Learning Centre.
  • Preston College, Fulwood Campus.


Course Content:
Whether you are a beginner or more advanced, you will be able to improve your understanding, speaking, reading and writing of English. You will work in small classes and/or on your own, using books, tapes and videos. You can start this course at any time of the year.

Assessment:
The majority of students take a continuous assessment certificate. It is possible for students who need an internationally recognised qualification to take Cambridge examinations in June or December.

Careers & Progression Opportunities:
English skills are vital for job-seekers and for people who want to go on to further study at any level. Other students find this course gives them the confidence to deal with life in a British environment.

How To Apply
You will need to have an informal interview with a Adult Admissions Adviser.
Many courses have limited places so please enquire as soon as possible. Following interview, the earliest you may enrol is mid-June.

Money Matters
Depending upon your circumstances, you may be able to study for FREE or at a reduced price.
