Course programme
By taking this course you will have the opportunity to practice and adapt some generic, basic, and specific competencies based upon those identified by the Centre of Outcomes Research and Effectiveness (CORE) in the application of CBT, which can be applied within your clinical area.
The course looks at areas including:
- CBT conceptualisations
- Agenda setting
- Goal setting
- Guided discovery
- Identifying automatic thoughts and generating an alternative perspective
- Identifying thinking errors and biases
- Identifying underlying assumptions and rules
- Change techniques
- Eliciting cognitions, behaviours and responses
You will also be expected to extend existing person-centred skills to develop and enhance your ability to communicate effectively with patients/clients, their family/carers, and other health professionals.
