Ask not what your customer can do for you – ask what you can do for your customer. In Entrepreneurship 101, you’ve learned to look at the world through the eyes of the customer – and ah, what a great perspective it is! But the journey doesn’t stop there. For the holy grail of specificity – while already within reach – there is still much to learn before obtaining it. Just as important as finding your customer is creating a great product that will solve the customer’s problem. How will customers acquire your product? How will it solve the customer’s problem? What value will your product bring? What is your secret sauce? How do you stack up vis-à-vis the competition? From fields as diverse as virtual immortality, small business marketing, urban design, language education, healthcare, and entrepreneur support services, we use in-depth case studies of entrepreneurs to examine how they developed their product concepts, solved their customer’s problem, established a clear value proposition, refined their secret sauce, and understood their competition. The journey continues. Are you with us? The customer is waiting. Students who receive a verified certificate in this course will be eligible for a one-year membership to AWS Activate, which includes $500 in AWS Promotional Credit along with other perks. FAQ How long is the course? The course is held over six weeks, and is entirely asynchronous. Lectures are pre-taped and you can follow along when you find it convenient. You may complete all assignments before the course ends. You may find it more beneficial to adhere to a weekly schedule so you can stay up-to-date with the discussion forums. How long will the course material be available online? The materials will be available to registered and paid participants for 90 days after the course ends. No extensions may be granted. When will I get access to the course site? Instructions for accessing the course site will be sent to all registrants by the course launch date. Are there prerequisites or advance reading materials? No. The course is open to any interested participant. No advance reading is required. Will the text of the lectures be available? Yes. All of our lectures will have transcripts synced to the videos. Do I need to watch the lectures live? No. You can watch the lectures at your leisure. Can I contact the Instructor or Teaching Assistants? Yes, but not directly. The discussion forums are the appropriate venue for questions about the course. The instructors will monitor the discussion forums and try to respond to the most important questions. In many cases, response from other students and peers will be adequate and faster. I have never taken a course on the edX platform before. What can I do to prepare? Prior to the first day of class, participants can take a demonstration course that was built specifically to help students become more familiar with taking a course on the edX platform. Will I receive an edX Certificate? Participants who successfully complete the course and all assessments will receive an edX Certificate of Completion. This course does not carry MIT credits or grades. However, a 70% pass rate is required in order to receive a Certificate. Will I receive MIT credits? This course does not carry MIT credits.
