Introduction Aim
This programme is available to young people between the ages of 16 and 18. It is designed for people who are not sure what career path they want to follow, or those who need help getting started in their chosen career. The learner attends a range of sessions designed to help them progress and develop their work related and independent living skills and also has the opportunity to work towards qualifications.
In order to help learners progress we work closely with local Connexions advisers and The Association Of Leaning Providers.
Tasters
Learners get the chance to try occupational tasters including brickwork and carpentry, and to gain some work experience before committing to a specific career. Once the learner is ready to take up full or part-time work they are helped to settle in over a period of a few weeks. They are also given apprenticeships and other learning opportunities.

Attendance
Learners are expected to attend for a minimum of 16 hours per week. They are entitled to apply for Educational Maintenance Allowance and are supported with travel costs.
